Mindset in childhood

How is the mindset in childhood created? Note this down and try to understand these critical points. Why? You have to grow tomorrow your kids, your future, and your home will be your future. Now note this with the importance the most crucial thing is the first 6 years of a child’s life whatever a kid sees is imprinted on them for life.

Mindset in childhood

Childhood Stories

I remember as a child, my mother used to tell me stories of pious people and instilled this mindset that the real heroes are those who pursue Allah’s path and serve others. On 6th September every year, the walls of my house were decorated with pictures of Pakistan’s heroes and famous personalities why is Jinnah my hero today? Because I read about him in my childhood. Mindset is cemented during childhood. The success of every prominent personality lies in their childhood. The roots of a criminal’s crimes can be traced back to childhood. Famous Sufis of the world, pious people, and those who do good even Edhi who used to say that his mother gave him two pence a day and used to advise him to distribute one and use the other for himself. That distribution habit made Edhi what he became later on.  How does one become an Edhi? It all starts with distributing one cent. It comes from the mother, a mindset to serve and do welfare for the people. Read the autobiography of any prominent person you will find the roots of their personality in their childhood. If you ignore that initial period, their personalities would never have become what they eventually achieved. This is all visible in their childhood, they have received affirmations, auto-suggestions, etc. these are psychological terms they have promised themselves something with their soul and their God which creates their mindset. Mostly, childhood creates your mindset.

Reading Books in childhood

Third, your mindset is created by stories۔ Books we have read, we have heard or someone has told us what was fed into our brains at a young age rubbish in, rubbish out or good in, good out. I asked a very good friend of mine what inspired him, and he said that he used to read books by Mr. Tariq Ismail Saghar which gave me the mindset of a spy, and with that mindset, I saw a dream of being a spy in some agency. Many people in the armed forces have childhood dreams of being there. I know the civil service or CSS officer, and I asked what inspired her to choose that path. She informed me that she used to watch a PTV drama in which famous actor Mr. Sajid had the role of an Assistant Commissioner and when she saw that in her 7th or 8th grade and realized how he was serving people, she had a mindset to do the same. That is why I say, exams are not 1-day preparation, you need the mindset to do that. Similarly, the ISSB exam for the armed forces evaluates your mindset above all and that is true for a job for a good job in any field, be it HR or marketing.

Teacher Inspiration

Then another important part is played by teachers, who are our role models and inspirations at a young age and create our mindset. Then life’s own ups and downs give you a mindset many people cannot think practically, being practical is a mindset. This pen for example is a tool for writing whether we are in Pakistan or USA, it will write because that is its purpose. Mindset is also similar to what will your mind perform?
